Why we don’t offer once per month cleanings

From time to time a potential client will contact us and request once per month cleanings.  In the past, we would attempt to accommodate such cleanings but we found them impossible to deal with and I’ll explain the reasons below:

a.  Clients “own” their cleaning spot on our calendar.  That means that we have reserved a day and approximate time for each client.  To reserve and/or “own” a spot, the client would need to be registered for either a weekly or biweekly schedule.  Most of our clients have their homes cleaned on a biweekly basis.

b.  When a client comes in and desires a once per month cleaning, we would have to do one of  two things:  (1)  We schedule the client around cancellations or (2)  We schedule the client on a Saturday but that’s a problem because Saturdays are reserved for move in/move out cleanings or first time cleanings for people who are desiring to become regular clients.

c.  Once per month clients have to go on a waiting list each month in hopes that a cleaning spot will become available.  And so if a regular client moves out of town or out of our service zone, that slot will open up and I can temporarily place a once per month client there until a regular client signs on to claim the spot.  Or, if a client goes no vacation, I can put someone in their slot until they return.  But the long and short of it is, the average cleaning company prefers not to take on once per month accounts.

Are you a person who desires cleanings on a once per month basis?  My advice would be to find a company that is very large (such as a franchise).  Large franchises  are generally staffed well enough to accommodate once per month cleanings.  Another option would be to find a company that is very, very tiny.  Tiny companies and start ups  are happy for the extra work and generally have the space for once per month clients.
