Streetcars to return to DC after 50 years

I am so happy about the fact that Washington, DC is being built up, returned to the beautiful city that it once was. DC is a historical town and for too long many areas of DC were burned out and in bad shape.

It is great news that streetcars are about to make their return to DC. Check this out:

Almost 50 years after streetcars last operated in the District, their return is now within sight. The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has started construction of a new streetcar line in Anacostia that is expected to start revenue-service by the fall of 2012, tracks are being laid on H Street and Benning Road for a second line, and planning is underway for additional segments across the city.

For those of you who live in DC or who are considering a move to DC, I am certain you understand that the more DC is refurbished, the more your home values will rise as people view the area as desirable and a fun, exciting place to visit or live in.   Here is hoping that the streetcar project moves along smoothly.
