Moving? More Maryland residents are staging their homes

I went to do an estimate today on a home that is about to be put on the market. The family has already moved out and are in another state.  Upon entering, I was immediately struck (in a good way) by the entire first impression.  First of all, the home was not cluttered.  The home was tidy. The furniture was beautiful and appeared to be made specifically for that home.

Because the owner of the home had given me permission to let myself in, I was able to walk through the home alone while taking my time.  The home was so “perfect” that it occurred to me that it had to be staged. And sure enough, when I spotted several pieces of fake food through the home, it was confirmed.

What a great idea!  There were less than a handful of photographs in the home. Smart!  Why is it good to remove photos?  Because the potential home buyer needs to be able to picture his/her own family living there—-not your family.  And staging in general is great because staging removes the entire personality of the home dwellers.  Staging gives the home a unique, neutral look.  In short, a stage home looks like a model home, inviting and beautiful.

UpperCrust Maids and Our Crew Members will clean the home soon.  Overall it’s a tidy home but it’s rather dusty and needs to be vacuumed. The fridge and oven needs to be cleaned on the inside. Once we add our finishing touches to the home, there is no question in my mind that it will sell almost immediately.

Would I have purchased the home if I were in the market for a home? Absolutely.  It is beautiful.  It was staged perfectly. I could see myself living there.

Moving?  Consider staging your home.  And remember to call UpperCrust Maids to get it cleaned, sanitized and ready to go!
