Empty house syndrome and winter

My least favorite season is winter. I am not a fan of cold weather. It’s tough to drive in the snow. The ice causes accidents and deaths. People freeze. The homeless suffer. Flu and colds abound.  Some people suffer mood swings in the winter.

Be that as it may, I respect winter as one of God’s seasons and I know that He never makes errors. Winter also has its good points. As a child I remember LOVING the snow. I loved snowball fights and I remember the joy in making the snowmen. Winter never felt cold to me when I was a child. It only seemed to affect me as I got older.

There are other things I love about winter. Hot chocolate….Stew….Soup…Boots….Wool clothes….Comfy sweaters and slippers…Christmas….Snuggling.

Yes….the more I think about winter, the more I realize that it has more good points than bad. Many of my clients have grown children now. And some are spending their first winter with their children out of the house….either off to college or out of state or married.

Instead of thinking about how sad winter can be at times, think of the positives of winter. With the children out of the house, this would be the perfect time to get the home thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom! Winter is a great time for a good house cleaning.

Very few things beat coming home to a house that smells fresh and looks squeaky clean. Give us a call and allow the ladies of UpperCrust to help you to get your winter off to a great, clean start!
